Android Swag

I am dedicating this post to my brother! I am so impressed by him. My brother sells android items (clothing, figures, etc.) well he decided to set up a Bar-B-Que and promote his business android swag. What had started out as only having 200 people ended up with over 600 and completely sponsored. He had everyone there from google to Verizon and more. There were so many people that came he had gotten shirts and prizes to hand out. He also sold several of his products from androidswag.com. I worked the front door the most of the time and it was awesome how many different types of people came and a lot came. I then helped out a little with sale his products and it was nonstop of selling he sold so much. He put so much work into this and it was well paid off everyone was so happy and ready for the next one. I am so glad I was able to be there to help him out.

So if anyone just loves their android phone check out his site. He has free shipping on everything and is a great guy to work with.

Running improvement!

It has been a while and I hate when I can't blog.  I have so much to write about so I am making two posts for today.  My first is about my running.  I had been struggling to get back into it and I think I have overcome that.

This last weekend we were in Tulsa and were able to find a 5k it was their zoo run. I was excited I love our zoo run. I decided to stay with my friend since she will be doing the half marathon with me! I was worried how would do because I was a little tired. Long story short we walked some but I felt really good. But then I wondered if I only felt good because I walked some.

Well yesterday we went to our usual group run that we just found. It is so great they set up water and they will let anyone run with them I love it. Well we were doing three so I was excited to see how I felt. And did I ever feel so good. We ran three in 28:37 and that is with a 30 sec water brake. I think that is one of my best times. I could have even run farther. I am so excited how well I did. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was struggling with just two. Also, my run yesterday was after a 750 yard swim!

I have said in the past that I want to improve my swim so I have my first swim lesson today. I hope I learn how to increase my speed without using too much energy. I have gone to several of this guy’s clinics so I am excited to get a one on one lesson.

My training has been going really well the past few weeks I hope to keep it up!

Trail Safety

I hadn’t been on my bike since the triathlon so on Sunday my husband and I decided to go for a bike ride.  We went out to the trail we have ran many times and rode our bikes on many times.  We got there and off we went and my husband being much faster than me went off ahead of me (which is fine by me).  What I am getting at with this post is the importance of trail safety.
The trail is a very popular trail and it is important that everyone is aware and considerate of others.  These are tips that I think everyone should know and follow.
1.       When approaching a runner or biker let them know your coming.
-          For example “on your left”
2.       Move to your right when you hear someone is coming up on your left.
-          That may mean you have to get behind the person you are walking/riding next to.
3.       If you have music on make sure it is low enough that you can hear someone approaching you.
4.       If you are crossing the trail make sure to look both ways ensure that no one is approaching.
5.       If you don’t have your dog on a leash make sure he does not chase after runner/bikers.
I understand maybe not everyone is aware of these safety tips and that is why I am trying to get the word out.  I think it would be great if we can pass these tips a long throughout the blog world.   The more people understand the safer the trails become.  Of course I would love to hear feedback, stories, and if you have any modifications to my tips.
RIDE/RUN SAFELY!

Time to kick it in the butt

I finally got my times from my triathlon!  What I learned from my time I need to cut my swim time down by half.  I am not sure how to do that without using all my energy and not having anything left for the run and bike.  Please help if you have any suggestions?   My bike is just above average it wouldn’t hurt to get faster on the bike.  My run was better than I thought for how terrible I felt but it was still bad.   Overall I was pleased I didn’t get last and I didn’t get first but I still had a really good time.
I have taken about two weeks off of any major training and I feel so sluggish.  I was talking to my husband about it and we decided that we need to create a serious training plan.  I start my half marathon training with my girlfriends in October.  I made the schedule only two days during the week and one long run on the weekend this way I can still train for triathlons.  I am really excited to start the half marathon training I really do enjoy doing half’s and I am glad so many of my friends want to do it to.  I even convinced my best friend who has never run to do it with me.  I think she is secretly excited about it!  We are looking into doing the New Orleans Mardi Gra half has anyone done that one?
I did a group run last Tuesday and Mizuno was there fitting shoes.  I needed a new pair of shoes desperately but I have only worn Asics.  I was excited to get fitted again and try out a new brand of shoes.  Of course they didn’t have them in the store, I had to order them hopefully they will be here next week.  I also want to get some Zoots when I do triathlons I don’t have to worry about socks and can slip them on and go.   I would post a picture of the Mizuno I got but I can’t remember the name.   Sorry no pictures this post! First Sprint Tri

I had my first sprint tri last Sunday.  I have done a beginner tri which was a little shorter.  I am a little disappointed because our times are still not posted and I really know what I want to do.  The race was great and so much fun my husband did it with me to.  I am so glad we can do these things together he really motivates me to try harder.  I am so lucky because my parents are so supportive in everything I do and my mom got up at 5am with us to get up and watch us race.  I love having her there she is so wonderful.
My husband and I before the race started

The swim I was very happy about it was a 500 meter swim.  I felt very comfortable and by my watch I finished in 16min which I know to some is not very fast but it was only a minute slower than my pool swims.  I do want to get faster but I am not sure how to do that and save my energy for the rest of the race.  If anyone has any good pointers please feel free to let me know.

My husband finishing the swim strong.  He is the one without a beer belly!

Running in after my swim I was so happy how great I felt.

The bike is my favorite but I notice that I need to continue to push myself.  I get comfortable and start to take it easy which is great for a bike ride but for a race I want to go fast.  I have decided that I think I am ready to try out my aero bars!  I have been so nervous but I am so comfortable on my bike now.

I am having a little chat with my mom!  I am sure my transition time was slow but worth being able to chat it up with my mom love her.

Oh the run I am glad I am on a half marathon schedule because my run was terrible.  It was only a 5k but it killed me.  My legs were so tired and my form is terrible.  I slouch forward so bad and I will not be posting pictures of me running because my form is so bad.  I have never thought of my form but after seeing pictures I look like I am struggling so bad and that I have never ran before.  That will be my goal on my running get back to where I was and work on my form.

All in all I really enjoyed myself and I can't wait to do another one.  I hope to get my times soon and when I do I will post them soon.

Doing it again

Today is the first day of my Half Marathon training!  I am excited to get back into but I am only running three days a week so I can still do triathlon training.  I am hoping that I convinced some of my girlfriends to start training with me and we do a girls half.  We are wanting to do the race in February so we have plenty of time to train not sure what race yet.  I would love to hear of any good races y'all have done around that time?

This weekend there is a sprint triathlon close to home and I think my husband and I are going to do it.  Should be interesting since we haven't done many open water swims lately.  I will definitely let you know how it goes after the race.

Got to Love Productive Saturdays

I know it's already Wednesday I am a little late on posting.  This last Saturday was so great.  I slept in till 8am and then my husband and I got up and ran just 3 miles but I had not ran in months so it was a good start.  It was getting warm so we got a good sweat.  My husband then went off to his fantasy football draft thing so I had the house to myself.  Just how I like it when it is time to clean.  Did I ever clean.  I even vacuumed our couch that is how hard I cleaned.  It was such a nice feeling to get everything done.  So here it is my after run and cleaning picture.  So many blogs I read always take there after glow of their run.  Well I forgot so you get the glow after run and cleaning.

Yes I still have all my running gear on because I usually sweat when I clean house it would be pointless to change.

I hope everyone is having a great week.  Also, I really don't think anyone ever reads my blogs so if you do and know of a good way to get my blog out there in blog world I would love the help as of now I have one follower :(.   THANKS!

Cruise

It has been a bit since my last post because I went on a Family Vacation!  We went on a cruise on Royal Caribbean.  Not much to say but it was an amazing, beautiful, and relaxing trip.  Below I will post a few pictures with info on where we went.

San Juan Puerto Rico.  This is where we left from and stayed there the night before.  That is me and my mom relaxing by the pool and then us all starting the trip right with margaritas!
Our cruise ship was so big this is all I could get of it.
My brother and I on the first formal night.
Our first stop was Curacao we just went shopping so this is the best picture I have.  My brother and Cousin and a papermache person.
Second stop was Aruba!  We went snorkeling and swinging.  The boat that you see here is what we took and it had a rope swing.
My husband and I right after I did the rope swing.
This is what we got to see every night a beautiful sunset!
We then went to Dominica and went to the waterfalls and black beach.  The waterfall was so beautiful and we had so much fun swimming in the water which was so fresh and cool. The black beach was so neat and hot!  It is black from the volcano's on the island.
Picture of my husband and I on the second formal night.  Yeah get got me a red rose!
Our last stop was St. Thomas which is beautiful and my favorite place.  We snorkeled and saw some amazing fish and giant turtles!  That day we decided that every picture we took would be a funny face.  We also went to a beach and it was beautiful.  We couldn't of asked for a better last day.
Every night our stateroom guy would leave us a towel animal.  My husband and I decided we felt bad for him because he never got a towel animal so we made him one!

These are just a few pictures I tried to narrow it down a lot it was hard.  But we had such a great time.  We were ready to come back and start planning our next trip!  But we had to come back to training.  We are not signed up for any races but I think there is a Sprint Tri in September we are going to do.  My husband keeps doing good with his half ironman training now he just needs to pick a race to do.  Any suggestions?

An amazing ride for an amazing Man

I finished the Tour De Cure with my fastest average speed!  It was such a nice ride and I was very lucky my husband rode with me the whole time!  The first lap was around the Texas motor speed way track.  It was pretty awesome and kind of scary if you didn't stay on the flat bottom part on the turns.  You don't realize in the stands but those turns are so tilted.  I love doing bike races but this one by far is my favorite.  All money raised went to American Diabetes Association.  Last November I lost my dad and even though he didn't have diabetes any more because of a pancreas transplant we believe the type 1 diabetes caused all the problems that lead up to his death.  It was a very hard emotional ride but I know he would of been proud.
This is at the 2nd rest stop with my Mom, Brother, and Sister in-law. They made shirts in memory of my Dad! I just love it and was a great surprise to see them at the stop.

I have another race this weekend it is the Goatneck and I have heard it is very hilly so I opted to do the 27 mile rather than the 41 miler with my husband and friend.  It should be a lot of fun hopefully the weather works in our favor and it stays somewhat cool!

Its been awhile but here you go its a lot!

Yes that’s me the only girl!

I have decided that I love my bike I enjoy doing bike races they are just so much fun. I don’t think I am very fast and its official I need to work on riding up hills. I just recently did the peach pedal which was officially my very first event to do with no family support. My entire family was out of town. But I was very excited to have met up with an old high school friend. I am so glad I did to I am hoping to do more rides with him and his friends. One of the guys has a website that is currently free to join and it is to encourage people to be active. http://www.dosomethinganything.com/ They will send you a some kind of gear and any time you upload pictures wearing the gear after doing something active you earn points and you can win fabulous prizes! Check out the website I personally think it is a great thing more people need to be active.

I ended up doing the 26 mile course at the peach pedal which was a good workout. I then waited for my husband to get back into town to go check out the peach festival which was a lot of fun but it was so hot we walked around once and headed home. My next ride is coming up quickly it is July 24 and it’s the Tour de Cure. All money raised goes to American Diabetes Association. I found out about the race about two weeks ago and I am proud to say I have already raised 406 dollars. My goal is 500 I am doing this ride in memory of my dad who we lost in November he had type 1 diabetes and caused many of the problems he overcame throughout his life. I am honored that I can do this ride in his memory and I would love to have any donations I can get even words of encouragement are great to have. Cheetos YUM

I am officially married and maybe some day I will post a blog with a few pictures in the mean time my husband now that I can call him that is very creative! I wonder sometimes if I married a 5 year old or a 32 year old. He is so great and does always seem to find a way to make me laugh. Yesterday on our drive home from his work Softball game we had a few Cheetos puffs. My husband takes huge bites of food probably the biggest I have ever seen so it was not unusual that he stuck the whole Cheetos puff in his mouth. Above is the picture of him making the Cheetos into a retainer. I am one lucky girl!

Who needs work anyways!

I am very annoyed I am sitting at work wanting to take my own leave so I can go home. I don't want to be here right now I already have the rest of the week off and all of next week for my Honeymoon. I still have so much to do before the wedding ok not really anything. I just want to go shopping and not be at work. But because my boss won't respond back to my email I don't know if I can leave. It is my leave that I earned I should be able to just leave right? To bad I am to chicken.

On a brighter note my wedding is this weekend. I am so excited and I had one of those aha moments last night. It hit me that I was getting married and I got so excited I almost cried. Ryan just looked at me like I was crazy. I can't wait for this weekend and to see all our friends and family.

I also, want to think Dee for having me on her blog. Nothing is more exciting than looking at peoples blogs and seeing that they wrote about you! Made my day you are the best!

I love this weather

It is official I have a very talented fiancée. We take our dog Gary for a walk after work every day or when the weather permits. Yesterday on our walk, Ryan challenges me in a spitting contest.

R: Babe you think I can get my spit all the way to the water (the pond we walk around)
Me: Sure why not
R: You try to
Me: I can’t spit my mom taught me manners and it’s not proper for women to spit

Ryan then proceeds to spit and yes, it goes into the water! I then felt I wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t at least show him that I couldn’t spit. I proceeded to spit as hard as I can and nothing really came out. We then get to the other side of the lake and Ryan wants to show off his skills again and he bets me if he can spit over the fence. Of course, he tries and he makes it over. At Least I know if we ever lose our jobs, Ryan can enter spitting contest!

3 baseball teams really is way to many

I had to add this picture because when I first saw it I thought it was the rangers girls. I use to do what those girls are doing. And yes the players really do this.

My Fiance Ryan he really is a great guy but sometimes I really wonder about him he is always keeping me on my toes. The other day he tells me he needs new baseball pants. I agreed since his other ones have a huge hole in the leg. He then proceeds to tell me that he wants to get grey pants because his Jersey is grey. I tell him that no that is to much grey and he should go with white. After arguing for a few minutes he then says

" Babe I may not know normal clothes fashion but trust me I know baseball fashion"

And this is why I love him so very much.

I first wrote this post about what was going on but decided I am really the only one that cares about that. So I thought for now on I am going to post funny statements or quotes.

Isn't a Marathon good enough!

As you can tell, I changed my blog thanks to the lovely Ashley I found new backgrounds that I love by the way. So thank you Ashley!

It is official Ryan is obsessed with doing a triathlon. His best friend Josh has influenced Ryan to start training for one. Most of yall are thinking that is great I should be proud which I am. However, that means I will have to do one to. I am slightly competitive and I can’t let him one up me on something. I also think Ryan spends more time texting Josh on his workouts, runs, biking, swimming whatever than talking to me. Every time I look over Ryan is on the phone I ask what he is doing and he responds with “texting Josh.” I am sure Taylor his wife can relate to all this. I love riding my bike and I don’t mind running but swimming eh and in open water. I have a fear of fish and what am I suppose to do if I need to rest there are no sides to hold on to? Maybe I could just hold on to Ryan’s leg and he can pull me along! What this all leads up to is I now have my sprint triathlon (shorter version of a full triathlon) schedule and I start next week! Hopefully the salt from LA Fitness pull will do great things for my skin since I will be in it at least twice a week. Cant Wait!

On a brighter note, I got my garter in the mail today I can’t wait to see it. It is special for Ryan but it is a surprise so I can not say. We also picked out and paid for our wedding bands on Monday! This Friday we are going for our food tasting. I guess this is what people are talking about when they say planning a wedding is fun because up till now its been stressful.

Wedding

It is strange how planning a wedding has taken over my life. I love it but then I hate it. I watch every wedding show possible which is a problem because I just want to add more to my wedding after I watch. All I truly want is to have this wedding and it finally be married. All I ever want to do is talk about weddings not even just mine. On that note:

I am going for my first fitting today. I would of liked to be 5 to 10lbs thinner and a little more toned but oh well. I just love food to much.

We started picking out our music last night! We found our first dance song. Ryan picked it and to give a hint on the song he said it was the song I had on my myspace when we first started dating!

We are going to pick out our wedding bands Monday!

Next Friday We are doing our food tasting.

We started our marriage counseling so far the minister is impressed on how great we are. I added that last part.

I am so excited to get all these things done and just means we are closer to the day. I can't wait to start celebrating with all our friends and family. Through it all I am proud to say I have not been a bridezilla yet! Just a little stressed at times.

First Timer

Well I did it. I broke down and decided to try to do this blogging thing. I figured right now I have a lot to talk about. Who wouldn't when they are trying to plan a wedding. Who ever tells you planning a wedding is exciting is a liar! Its so stressful and I am not even doing anything I have bummed everything off on my mom. Which she is amazing and I am so glad she is doing it. Right now my biggest concern is how the ceremony is going to go. The problem is I am Jewish Ryan is Mormon and we are getting married by a christian minister! Yeah crazy. Lets just hope the minister will do all the work but still respect our beliefs. I just am so ready for the day to celebrate with all our friends and family and marry the most amazing man!

Well I am still working on my blog but somethings just don't work very well on a protected government computer so I guess I will wait till I get home.
